Determination of Intersection Status:

The quick estimation method yields a qualitative assessment of the status of the intersection with respect to its capacity. There are four possible conditions based on the critical v/c ratio:

Critical v/c Ratio	Intersection Performance Assessment
Less than 0.85	Under capacity
0.85 - 0.95	Near capacity
0.95 - 1.00	At capacity
Greater than 1.00	Over capacity
